Frequently Asked Bedfan Questions:
Q: Does the Bedfan have a built-in air conditioner?
A: No, it does not. The Bedfan forces a gentle breeze of air under your sheets - nothing more, nothing less. If the air around your bed is cool and comfortable, the Bedfan will blow a breeze of cool and comfortable air under your sheets. If the air around your bed is 100 degrees, though, the Bedfan will blow 100 degree air under your sheets. It is a bed fan, not a bed air conditioner.
Q: My bed is really tall / has a footboard / is round / is tall and round with a flashing neon footboard and satellite dishes on the bed posts. Will the Bedfan still work with it?
A: YES! 99.9% DEFINITELY! As long as you have a place to set it up and plug it in, the rest is as easy as tucking in sheets! The only types of beds that may not work are mattresses sitting flat on the floor and R.V. beds that sit flat on a pedestal. Please look at the Bedfan Illustrations and the photographs if you have any doubts. If you cannot install the Bedfan, all you have to do is send it back for a refund.
Q: Does the Bedfan work with a comforter?
A: Yes, the Bedfan works with a comforter. The lighter the covering, though, the better it works. There is more open space for the Bedfan's air currents to move when you use a light covering, such as a sheet or a light blanket, than there would be with a heavier cover, such as a comforter. The less open space there is beneath the mattress, the more resistance there is to the air current and the slower the air moves.
Q:
Is the Bedfan big, bulky, or an eyesore once it's installed?
A:
The BedFan is barely noticeable because it is mostly covered by linens. All you see after you make the bed is a little black box under the foot of the bed. If you have a solid footboard or covers that hang down to the floor, you don't even see the little black box.
Q:
Is the Bedfan noisy?
A:
The Bedfan makes about as much noise as a small desktop fan. It is not totally silent, but you could hear a pin drop while it is running full blast.
Q:
What if my spouse or I get too cold in the night? Will the Bedfan affect the other person in my bed?
A:
You have instant control over the speed of the Bedfan at all times with the under-pillow remote. You can set it anywhere from off to full power by just moving your thumb under your pillow. You will be amazed at how much just a tiny little breeze that you can barely feel helps you stay cool!
All your spouse has to do to get away from the air, if they feel any air to start with, is roll over and let the sheets settle between you. One Bedfan covers one person. Two people would require 2 Bedfans, even in the same bed.
Q:
Would the Bedfan really save me money?
A: YES! The only way to reduce your electric bill is to use less electricity. Air conditioning uses major amounts of electricity and accounts for 45% or more of the average home electricity bill during warm seasons.
The Bedfan allows you to comfortably
raise your thermostat by as much as 8 to 10 degrees without sacrificing comfort or quality of sleep. The table below shows savings based on using the Bedfan and raising your thermostat by 7 degrees, with a savings of 6% per degree:
The Bedfan only costs nickels per month to operate and pays for itself quickly, sometimes in the first month!
