We took 3 sets of BlackJax golf discs to Veterans Park in Arlington, TX just as the sun was setting and disc golfers were starting to leave due to darkness. We approached 3 of them and asked them to play a few holes with the BlackJax discs and tell us what they think. In exchange, they could keep the discs. They agreed, and here's what they said:
Adam:
I don't usually play much frisbee golf in the summertime because it's so hot all day. But being able to play after the sun goes down cuts about 20 degrees off the temperature. I see a few people with little lights taped to the bottom of their discs, but these are way cooler!
James:
I love disc golf. I live right next to the course, and I compete in a league. I like the feel of these discs' plastic, and they fly as well as any of my other discs. This is a great idea, and I definitely recommend BlackJax light up golf discs! I also recommend some kind of marker lights for the chains and to mark the location of obstacles you can't see, like trees and curves.
Dusty:
I play frisbee golf pretty often, but I have never seen these discs before. They're a lot brighter than fishing lights taped to the bottom of discs, and they are a lot easier to find in the grass. They are made of a good quality plastic, and they fly like normal discs. I hope the PDGA will approve these soon so we can have official night games.
