Buckyballs Instructions

I sat down with everyone else, and they all mingled and chatted and ha-ha'd about things that happen at their work, which I have no knowledge of or interest in. I took the Buckyballs out of my pocket and started to pull the glob into chains.

A few people gave uninterested glances, and I started to form the hexagon pieces that make up the column at the start of the Buckyballs video.

As I lay out the hexagons and stuck them together in the quilt pattern, I got more glances. Some were glances of curiosity. Some were glances of "You're weird."

Then I curled to quilt up into the diving helmet shape and plopped it down on the table like a tripod. Conversations continued, but speech had slowed. All but the snobbiest eyes were on the Buckyballs now.

And then I picked the diving helmet apart into its 3 flower-shaped sections, lined them up, and went through the exact same routine as in the Buckyballs video. Conversation had all but stopped. All eyes were on me and my Buckyballs. I set them down on the table and waited a few moments. No one said anything, and conversations started to resume, so I got up to get a drink, leaving the Buckyballs on the table.

But when I got back with my drink, the neat Buckyball column had been divided among the group and everyone was playing with them. "These are weird!" "What are these?" "Can we play with your Buckyballs?"

It's great when a table of girls all want to play with your Buckyballs. They all tried to make Buckyball magic happen without knowledge or practice. Then they noticed that two Buckyballs can hold each other up through the cheek or the lip. They started putting my Buckyballs on their lips and in their mouths. Then they noticed that Buckyballs will also attract through nose and ear cartilage and they started putting Buckyballs in their noses and ears. I asked if anyone wanted to experiment with any other frequently pierced body parts and my Buckyballs, but no one volunteered. Yet.
